We and them, from prejudice to racism

What is racism? Why does it exist? Are all humans racist? Exhibition - 25.06.2017 - 20.06.2018

In recent year, social psychologists, geneticists and researcheers in the humanities have tried to come up with answers to these questions. This exhibition present an original analysis of phenomena of racialization from the past to the present day. It looks back at well-known historical episodes such as slavery, colonization and 19th-century science, which laid the groundwork for racist ideology.

Plaquette de présentation

This exhibition was designed by the Musée de l'Homme in Paris. There is a particular resonance to presenting it in an adapted form here at the European Centre for Deported Resistance Members: it is no trivial matter to remind people of the inalienable nature of human dignity on the site of the former Nazi concentration camp of Natzweiler.
