Subsidies

A joint Memory, Heritage and Archives Department/Education Department circular of 6 July 2001 currently governs relations with the Ministry of National Education.

Educational projects presented by schools, associations or municipalities are eligible for funding.

The files must be filled out, completed by documentation and sent to the local board of education in the school district of the school or teacher(s) making the request. A decision will be made based on the quality of the educational project presented.

The Bilateral Education Cooperation Commission (CBCP) will review only those files on which the board of education or chief education officer has given an opinion instaurée par la circulaire in order to give an opinion on the quality of the project and offer the amount of the subsidy to be granted.

It is advisable to send the DMPA a copy of the dossier at the same time that it is sent to the academic authority so that the file can start being processed while waiting for the reception of the original dossier approved by the board of education or chief education. It is also possible to contact the school so that it follows up on the request with the hierarchical authority within the allotted time frame.

The CBCP examines the dossiers that have received a favourable opinion before they are presented to the subsidy commission of the ministry of defence, which decides whether or not to grant the subsidy.
